A tribute to the importance and function of bees

The first multimedia eco-mural in Italy, Impollinèmesi, was born in Tuscany, in Carrara, on the Monterosso Steps, on 14 October 2022: a completely new work, created by Zed1 with sound interventions by the sound designer Alessio Mosti and sculptural interventions by Silvia Scaringella, which - paying homage to the importance and function of bees in the ecosystem - transforms their sound into music, transforming it into narration and an artistic installation increased by proximity.

A new sinergy between technology, environment and urban, sculptural and musical art

A new awareness raising project in the name of sustainability, born from the social promotion association A.p.s. edited by Yourban2030, in collaboration with the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara, with the patronage of the Municipality of Carrara and thanks to the support of the Marble Foundation and the scientific advice of the beekeeper Martina Bigi.

Three artists meet in a dialogue project to tell the enchanting complexity of the world of bees. A fragile and at the same time "ultra" productive ecosystem that the three artists wanted to immortalize in an air-purifying urban art work that combines the sound component with the sculptural one with a very specific goal: to sensitize the general public to the goal 15 of the 2030 Agenda on the complex link that unites all the biotic and abiotic components of a territory.

The street Artist

MARCO BURRESI AKA ZED1

ZED1 is one of the most appreciated and well-known Italian street artists. Born in 1977 in Florence, he started painting walls in the first half of the 90s. His aesthetic is the result of a personal pictorial fantasy capable of intercepting and effectively conveying themes and ideas related to society and to the human being.

The contact with the artist's works comes through a double reflection that embraces both the inner universe, with the different emotional and psychological facets that characterize man, as well as the outer one, with everyday life and contemporary society as the main stages of the works and of the 'scenes' depicted.

Sculptress

Silvia Scaringella

Silvia Scaringella graduated in sculpture, trained in numerous technical and artistic ateliers and also studied in Japan, an experience that influenced his language and thought.

His sculpture starts from anthropological and sociological interests, from the search for correspondences in collective and individual behaviors, of the animal and human world, which become in his works multitudes of related beings, revealed holistic systems, indicators of dynamism and entropy of the contemporary age, symbology of sought-after existential correlation.

Sound designer

Alessio Mosti

Alessio Mosti, born in Pontedera near Pisa, has been passionate about music since he was a child.

In 2015 he began to show interest in a decisive way for deejays and exactly one year later he began to play, thanks also to the meeting with the well-known deejay of Versilia Mirco Martini, in renowned places in Tuscany and to undertake numerous artistic and musical collaborations.

Beekeeper

Martina Bigi

Martina Bigi is a beekeeper who runs a small farm, made up of bees and a lot of passion in Lunigiana and at the foot of the Apuan Alps, where the typically mountain landscape has a very varied vegetation that allows it to produce different types of products, from wildflowers to mountain and spring honeys with fine single-flower honeys, as well as honeydew, pollen and raw propolis.

Martina uses locations in pristine areas, but also on the land of other farms that adopt cultivation systems in harmony with the environment and that use production methods that exclude the use of fertilizers, pesticides and chemicals. Her philosophy is that there is no agriculture without bees flying over it.

Airlite

Purify the air from the pollution of more than 30 cars

Made with Airlite paints, Impollinemesi will purify the air every day from the pollution produced by 31.5 Euro 6 cars, absorbing 6.8 kg of CO2 in the first month of application.

Recognized by the United Nations as one of the four best technologies in the world to combat pollution, Airlite is a technology that is applied like a simple paint that, thanks to the action of light, transforms any wall into a natural air purifier. 100% natural, it generates electrons on the surface of the walls which, combined with water vapor and oxygen in the air, produce negative ions.
