Between man, nature, and architecture in the heart of Villa Borghese

In the green heart of Villa Borghese, among the centuries-old trees and harmonious architecture that define one of Rome's most iconic sites, the Carlo Bilotti Museum – Aranciera di Villa Borghese hosts the exhibition "Deus sive natura" by Silvia Scaringella, curated by Maila Buglioni, until January 25, 2026.

The project is supported by Yourban2030, the organization founded by Veronica De Angelis committed to art and sustainability projects, and with the collaboration of the Municipality of Carrara, a city that has always been linked to the language of sculpture.

Promoted by Roma Capitale – Department of Culture and the Capitoline Superintendency of Cultural Heritage, the exhibition is produced and organized by Lamaro Arte, with the patronage of Carrara City of Crafts and Folk Art, the technical support of Tabularasa, and in media partnership with HF4 communication and Zètema Progetto Cultura museum services.

Translating the tension between balance and metamorphosis into matter

A dialogue between man, nature, and architecture takes shape within a symbolic space returned to the public twenty years ago. Today, alongside works by De Chirico, Warhol, and many other twentieth-century masters, the space chooses to embrace contemporary art, welcoming the research of a young sculptor capable of translating the tension between balance and metamorphosis into matter.

In Deus sive Natura, Silvia Scaringella constructs a symbolic landscape in which humans are called to question their place in the living system. His sculptures—insects, minute organisms, forms that oscillate between botany and anatomy—render marble a fragile body, capable of revealing all the delicacy and fragility of the ecosystems on which our very existence depends. Through these suspended creatures, the artist invites us to rethink the relationship between humanity and nature not as domination, but as coexistence: a balance to be preserved, not consumed.

It is a vision that resonates deeply with the mission of Yourban2030, which for years has used art and innovation to spread the culture of sustainability and the principles of the 2030 Agenda. In Scaringella's works, we find the kind of language that can generate awareness: a silent yet powerful narrative, capable of speaking to emotions even before reason.

An acoustic landscape that amplifies the sense of connection

Further weaving this interweaving is the music of producer Marco Del Bene, who accompanies the exhibition with a soundtrack entitled Hybrida. A hybrid work, constructed as an acoustic landscape that amplifies the sense of connection between elements, voices, and matter.

For years, del Bene has explored, with his soundtracks and live performances—as in the Borders project—the limits and boundaries of the relationship between humanity and nature, in a research journey into sustainability and listening to the environment as a vital organism.

The Artist

SILVIA SCARINGELLA

Born in Rome in 1986, Silvia Scaringella graduated in sculpture from the Carrara Academy of Fine Arts and trained in numerous technical and artistic studios, including that of Renato Mambor.

Her sculpture stems from anthropological and sociological interests, from the search for correspondences in collective and individual behaviors, in the animal and human worlds, which in her works become multitudes of interrelated beings, revealed holistic systems, indicators of the dynamism and entropy of the contemporary era, and symbols of refined existential correlation.
